How to Replace Golf Spikes

You now have all of your golf equipment ready to go. But what about the softspikes on your golf shoes? Two decades ago golf shoes were made with metal spikes that rarely broke, but the tore up the golf courses. Today's golf equipment includes soft spike golf cleats that do break occassionally and need to be replaced. This article will tell you how to manage this part of your golf equipment easily and effortlessly.

Instructions:

  1. Step 1

It is important to know that soft spikes are universal. You do not need to worry whether the spikes you are looking at in the store fit your golf shoes. They do.

  2. Step 2

You can buy them at any golf store, golf proshop, or order them online. If you order them online, do it in combination with another order so that you do not have to pay shipping that may be 25-75% of the cost of the golf soft spikes. If you are re-buying your favorite golf shoes or your favorite sunglasses online, just remember to order a few packages of golf shoe softspikes at the same time.

  3. Step 3

You will also need to buy a wrench made for changing the golf cleats. You only need to buy the wrench once, decide if you want a small one that is lighter or if you want one that has a larger grip causing less torque on your hands (good for those folks beginning to develop arthritis) or if you want to combine the wrench with a spike brush. Either way, buy what you want once and use it through many packages of soft spikes.

  4. Step 4

Decide how much missing a spike effects your game. Some players can go without a couple spikes or play with a broken spike and they do not notice it at all. Also decide how much weight you want to carry in your bag. Based on these two things, decide if you want to carry the soft spikes in your golf bag or if you can just leave them in the back of your car or where you store your golf eqiupment at home.

  5. Step 5

Or, a golf pro can replace golf spikes for you. Especially if the course does not sell the spies, the pro will fix it for you.
